Trip Introduction
Tamang Heritage Trek is an exciting trek into the Himalayas that offers travelers a peek into the every-day lives of the Tamang people who are Nepalese mountain dwellers of the Langtang region. The 14-day trip begins in Kathmandu with visits to UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Next, we drive to Syabrubesi and begin trekking into the mountaneous region. Throughout our journey we will be rewarded with outstanding views of the Himalayas and get acquainted with the culture and traditions of the Tamangs who live in close vicinity to the mighty Langtang.

Outline Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft)
Day 2: Kathmandu: Sightseeing and Trek Preparation
Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1,550m/5,100ft): 8-9 hours
Day 4: Trek begins: Syabrubesi to Gatlang (2,200m/7,217ft.): 5 hours
Day 5: Gatlang to Tatopani (2607m/8550 ft): 6-7 hours
Day 6: Tatopani to Thuman (2,400m/7,874 ft) via Brimdang and Nagthali: 6 hours
Day 7: Thuman to Briddim (2,345m/7,693 ft): 6 hours
Day 8: Briddim to Lama Hotel (2470m): 6 hours
Day 9: Lama Hotel to Langtang village (3,430m/11,253ft): 6-7 hours
Day 10: Langtang village to Kyanjin Gompa (3,870m/12,697ft): 4 hours and hike to gyangjin ri 4754m.
Day 11: Trek back to Lama Hotel (2,380m/7,830ft): 4-5 hours

Shoes - Lightweight hiking boots are great. Make sure they are comfortable and you have worn them in before arriving in Nepal. Trail running shoes will work, too, which are lighter but not ideal if it rains or snow (unless they are made with Goretex)

ACCOMODATION
We will be accommodated in 3-star hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara; and tea houses during the trek. All accommodations are on twin-shared basis. Single supplement will be served on request and will cost an additional USD 360. Conqueri will arrange rooms with attached washrooms; however, tea houses in some places only have shared washing and toilet facilities. Also note that single rooms are readily available in Kathmandu, Pokhara and the trekking regions at lower elevation but it might be difficult to find them at higher elevations.

MEALS
During our trek, we can enjoy authentic Nepalese food as well the more common international cuisine (Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Indian, etc.). Breakfast and dinner will be provided from the tea house or from a lodge menu where we spend the night whereas lunch will be provided on the way to the next destination. All meals including breakfast, lunch and dinner, will be provided during trekking while only breakfast will be available in Kathmandu and Pokhara. There will also be welcome and farewell dinners.

PHYSICAL CONDITION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
This is a moderate trek suitable for passionate walkers who have the ability to walk at least 5-7 hours a day with a light day pack. Walking in higher altitudes is more physically demanding than walking in lower altitudes; however, if we are in excellent health with average physical fitness and have a positive attitude, self-confidence and strong determination, we can accomplish this trek successfully. Exercising and jogging regularly for some weeks prior to the trip is a good idea to enhance our strength and stability. Past hiking experience would be an asset but no technical skill is required for this trip. It is vital for
