Trip Introduction
Annapurna Base Camp trek or Annapurna Sanctuary Trek is a spectacular journey on foot to the South Face of Annapurna I(8091m). A pleasant hike through the ethnically diversified villages and forests assorted by flora and fauna. Explore the way upstream along the Modi Khola into the Annapurna Sanctuary, a valley surrounded by towering Himalayan peaks including the breathtaking Fishtail Peak-Machhapuchhare (6,993m). Experience the opportunity of watching sunrise over the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges from Poon Hill as the bequest of the trip. Although there is only one entrance to the sanctuary itself, we follow locally known, lesser-used approaches and exit routes on our premier Annapurna Sanctuary Trek. This is an unique trek on the foothill of the Annapurna south specially designed for those who love to enjoy the flora and fauna, panoramic view of the Himalayan range in a comfortable way including Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Fishtail and other Himalayan ranges. The vast amphitheater of the Annapurna Sanctuary is encircled by the famous Himalayan peaks – the ‘Fishtail’ spire of Machapuchare (6997m), Gangapurna (7454m), Annapurna I (8091m), the unclimbed Fang (7647m) and Annapurna South (7273m). The only approach follows the Modi Khola Valley through forests of oak, rhododendron and bamboo which also passes through local Gurung villages to a world of soaring peaks. Typical Gurung villages at Landruk, Ghandruk, & Chhomorung; Machhapuchhare Base Camp; Great mountains views from Annapurna Base Camp; Sunrise and mountains views from Poon Hill; Visit the inner sanctuary of the Annapurnas; Panoramic views of Annapurna, Annapurna South, Hiuchuli, Annapurna I, Machhapuchhare, Gangapurna, Tent peak, Gandharba Chuli) are key attraction of this trekking route. This is an ideal trek best called as a classic walk right into the heart of the mountains and our gentle walk start from lowland to the outstanding high mountains with breathtaking view of the Annapurna range. This trek involves several ascents and descents but not so hard to attempt as there are several alternative routes to the sanctuary, all meeting at Chomrong. This trek provides an excellent opportunity to experience the fascinating glimpse of rich nature and culture, typical Nepalese lifestyle and ultimate thrill of trekking in the Himalayas at the high and low elevation.

PHYSICAL CONDITION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
-
This is a moderate trek suitable for passionate walkers who have the ability to walk at least 5-7 hours a day with a light day pack. Walking in higher altitudes is more physically demanding than walking in lower altitudes; however, if we are in excellent health with average physical fitness and have a positive attitude, self-confidence and strong determination, we can accomplish this trek successfully. Exercising and jogging regularly for some weeks prior to the trip is a good idea to enhance our strength and stability. Past hiking experience would be an asset but no technical skill is required for this trip. It is vital for participants with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart, lung, and blood diseases to consult their doctor before taking the trip. It is also advised that you inform Conqueri of any conditions before booking the trek.

BEST TIME TO TRAVEL
-
Autumn (Sept. to Nov.) and Spring (March to May) are the best seasons for trekking in the Annapurna region. The weather is sunny and warm with outstanding views. If you wish to avoid crowds and enjoy some alone time with nature, then taking this trip during winter (Dec., Jan., Feb.) could also be an option. However, the temperature during winter could be harsh for most guests. Trekking in the summer or monsoon season (June to Aug.) will be affected by rain but the summer trek could be a boon for a keen botanist.
